Cultural and Awareness Programme
Social Welfare & Rural Development Society (SWRDS) is a 33-year-old organization working for poor and rural people of Ghatal, West Medinipur. We have stretched our wings in varied sectors of the Cultural and Awareness Programme. Here are some of the initiatives we have taken as an NGO.
Seminar On Daily Affairs
The organization decided to hold some seminars on day-to-day matters esp.on drug-addiction, the campaign against dowry and early marriage, Water pollution, environmental pollution, and about other legal awareness. SWRDS also arrange some meetings on adult education and literacy. All the money spent was borne by the organization.
Awareness Camp On Consumer Welfare
We create awareness among the consumers against the mal-practices of shopkeepers and businessmen on the way of cheating. The organization often published pamphlets and posters and made mike canvassing in the market places and thereby tried to protect the interest of the consumers. From our NGO, we try to let people know about the service rules they are getting from any companies or service providers.
Observation Of Important National Days
The society observed important dates and festivals with proper care and enthusiasm. On these occasions, we make distribution of sweets and clothes among the poor masses. This has encouraged the people in the affairs of society and kept a careful watch on the activities of the society. Thus in the hour of need, their participation is very very encouraging.
